How to check a used car before you buy it in the UAE

Buying a used car in the UAE is mostly about paperwork.

Start with the service history. A car with stamps from a recognised workshop is worth more than one without, and the gaps tell you more than the stamps do.

Check the chassis number on the car against the registration card. They should match exactly. If the seller is reluctant to let you look, that is your answer.

Finally, get an independent inspection. It costs a few hundred dirhams and it is the cheapest insurance you will ever buy.
